💊 Health & Medication Questions

Before arriving at camp, please review our Medication Information for Parents & Guardians guide.

The guide explains:

  • What items are considered medications (including vitamins, supplements, and over-the-counter medications)
  • Which emergency medications campers may keep with them
  • Medication storage and administration procedures
  • Packaging and labeling requirements
  • Medications that cannot be accepted

Our Health Care Team is committed to providing a safe and healthy camp experience for every camper.

Camp Qwanoes has Registered Nurses on site who oversee the safe storage and administration of medications. Medications are provided according to the instructions supplied and are carefully documented throughout the week.

We have a fully staffed Health Care Centre on site.

If a camper becomes sick:

  • They will be cared for immediately
  • Parents will be contacted if needed
  • Pickup may be required depending on the situation

Parents are asked to complete their camper’s medical form through the Qwanoes Online Registration Portal within two weeks of the start of the camp. Although the medical form becomes available on June 15, we encourage families not to complete it more than two weeks before their camper arrives.

Completing the form as close to the start of your camper’s week as possible helps ensure that all medical information, medications, allergies, and other health details are accurate and up to date.

Please note that once the medical form has been submitted, it cannot be edited online. If changes are needed after submission, please contact the Camp Qwanoes office and we will be happy to assist you.

Our Health Care team is available around the clock to assess and care for campers who become ill or injured. Parents or guardians will be contacted whenever necessary, particularly for significant illnesses, injuries, or situations requiring off-site medical care.

Camp Qwanoes strives to accommodate many allergies and dietary needs. More information about food service and available dietary options can be found in the Food Service & Dietary Needs section of our Parent FAQs.

Parents are asked to provide information about allergies and dietary requirements when completing their camper’s medical form through the Qwanoes Online Registration Portal.

Medical forms become available on June 15, but we recommend completing them no more than two weeks before your camper’s session. Completing the form close to the start of your camper’s week helps ensure that dietary and medical information is as accurate and up to date as possible.

If you have questions about specific dietary requirements, please contact us before your camper’s session and we will be happy to help.

If you have questions regarding medications, allergies, dietary concerns, or other health-related matters, please contact Camp Qwanoes before your camper’s week. We are happy to help and want to ensure your child has a safe and enjoyable camp experience.
