Pacific Woods Lodge
This building has all the features! Large meeting room (with multimedia), up to 15 sleeping rooms including two rooms with wheel chair access, and ground level wheel chair access to the lower two levels.
Sleeping accommodations are located on the top and middle floors of this Lodge. Each of the fifteen rooms has 8 beds with most rooms including a private washroom and shower, not to mention a spectacular view from your own window seat. Please note that no bedding or linens are supplied. A minimum of 6 guests per room applies to all groups enjoying the Pacific Woods Lodge.


Sky Ridge Lodge
This Lodge building with a great ocean view facing Salt Spring Island is centrally located on the camp property.
The camp dining hall and kitchen are located on the upper floor of the Sky Ridge Lodge. The dining hall can seat up to 170 comfortably for meals at tables of 8-10 each. The outside covered Sky Deck and Promenade deck, where guests at Camp Qwanoes eat during the summer, can seat up to 400 at tables of 8-10 each.
Sleeping accommodation is located on the lower floor of the Lodge. Seventeen heated rooms that contain a total of 67 beds are located near central washroom/shower facilities for males and females. Please note that no bedding or linens are supplied.
Cabins
A total of 45 outdoor cabins with 10-11 beds each, surrounded by tall trees, may be available from early May until mid-June and in September. There are presently two styles of cabents to choose from: traditional style wood cabents and marquee tent-style cabents feature more light and more room.
Washroom/shower facilities are available to guests staying in the cabents in centrally located areas.
All cabins are unheated and do not offer electricity. Depending on the season, groups sleeping in the cabins will need warm sleeping bags and possibly an extra blanket.


Guest House
A beautiful 5-bedroom heritage house located on scenic, quiet waterfront property is just a few minutes walk from the action. This adult only option includes all bedding and linens, a great sunroom, and a beautiful ocean view from the front porch.
Club Coco
Club Coco is located within walking-distance of both Lodges.
Club Coco is a large multi-purpose room with an ocean view and a fireplace. This room can seat up to 245 comfortably, and a wide selection of audio/visual equipment is available.


qrok Tower and Deck
A versatile deck area that can serve as a great meeting place, a cool hangout spot, or even an outdoor stage for skit night or mini-concert. Depending on the season, you can inquire about the option to turn this deck into a DJ booth.
Fireside
A 400 seat outdoor amphitheater featuring a gorgeous ocean view and a central fire pit offers your group many options. The fireside is located steps away from the Dining Hall and right next to the qrok Tower.

🌲 Challenge Course
The high adventure ropes course, sheltered by forest, includes the Breath-Taker (big swing), Screamer (double zipline), the Power Pole (trust dive off a 25′ pole), the SkyScraper (multi-person giant swing), the Sky Station (linked elements) the Over-the-Top Initiative Wall (includes 10′ and 12′ walls and the Mine Shaft), plus the Climbing Tower. Looking for challenges a little closer to the ground? Swing across, straddle the ropes, and put your balance to the test on Airwalk Village. At our 4-sided, multi-use outdoor climbing tower, 1,800 square feet of vertical challenge is available on walls 28′ high.
The course is staffed by our qualified belayers with all equipment provided. Elements in the challenge course may be booked between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. for up to four hours at a time, subject to the availability of trained staff and weather permitting. For ages 8 and up. Please refer to the Qwanoes Challenge Course Packages sheet for specific information.
🏖️ Qwanoes Beach
Qwanoes Beach, with approximately 3000′ of sheltered coastline facing Salt Spring Island, offers excellent opportunities to swim, kayak, or canoe. The camp has a canoe and approximately 20 Ocean Kayak Frenzies available that may only be used within defined boundaries. To go outside the boundaries, a ski boat and driver must be present at the waterfront. The waterfront may be booked between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for up to four hours at a time, subject to the availability of trained staff and weather permitting.
🏁 Wide Games
The camp has qualified staff ready and prepared to lead your group in an action packed group game. We supply the leader and equipment; all you need are a few supervisors to help run the game. Whether you need a game to be a back up for that rainy day or a night game to take your event to the next level, we have just the event in mind. Wide Games may be scheduled between the hours of 1 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. and will run for up to 2 hours at a time, subject to the availability of trained staff and weather permitting for outdoor events.
⚽️ Sports Fields
The camp has two sports fields for large group activities and games. The larger field has a full asphalt sport court featuring glass backboards. It is fenced in to make it the perfect spot for street hockey. Other features include a sand volleyball court, 1 or 2 trampoline(s), a skateboard park, and a baseball diamond. To use the trampoline, the group must supply proper supervision. Sports equipment available includes footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, and frisbees.
🏕️ Other Recreation
Many excellent beach and mountain trails (for hiking and walking) surround Camp Qwanoes. Other options include ping pong, foosball hut, the playground, and for adult groups, horseshoes. Our outdoor fireside includes a spectacular ocean view and seats approximately 400 people amphitheatre-style.
🍭 Tuck Shop/Camp Store
Upon request, the Tuck Shop will be open at pre-arranged times between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm during your stay at Camp Qwanoes. Other hours of service may be available by special arrangement. We offer a full variety of snacks (candy, chocolate bars, pop, etc.) and a full selection of quality hats, shirts, and sweatshirts for all price ranges. Basic personal items may also be purchased at the store.

🏥 Health and Safety
Health and safety is a high priority at Camp Qwanoes. Several hospitals and clinics are located within 20 minutes of Camp Qwanoes. Emergency phone instructions are posted by each public phone at camp. Groups are responsible for supplying their own First Aid Representative (Advanced First Aid preferred) and first aid supplies. Note that groups larger than 100 guests must have an Advanced First Aid representative or equivalent First Aid Representative.
🏓 Program Consultation and Supplies
Camp Qwanoes provides a program consultation service for all guest groups. A new service that we have added recently is Qwanoes Wide Games. We supply the ideas, the equipment and the leader, all you have to supply are some supervisors to help run the game!
In addition to such program facilities and equipment, Camp Qwanoes has the following program supplies available to guest groups for an additional charge: water blasters, balloon launchers, glowsticks, flagging tape, a carnival-style popcorn machine and popcorn, and a moon ball.
A guest group may opt to rent a large hot tub to have on-site for the duration of its stay at Camp Qwanoes, subject to availability. If notified in advance, the camp will make all necessary arrangements with the off-site rental company.
The large, versatile Club Coco building is within walking-distance of both Lodges.
🚌 Bus Transportation
For guest groups from the Greater Vancouver area, return bus transportation is available from either of the Nanaimo ferry terminals to Camp Qwanoes. For all groups, bus transportation is available from Camp Qwanoes to one or more of the numerous local points of interest.
📍 Local Points of Interest Include...
Plan a day trip or many…there are many local attactions that are open year round that are definitely worth checking out.
- Saltspring Island, part of the beautiful Gulf Islands, is a picturesque favourite for visitors. The B.C. Ferry Terminal in Crofton to Saltspring Island is within 5 minutes of Camp Qwanoes.
- The small, charming town of Chemainus is located within 15 minutes of Camp Qwanoes. Visit the giant, world-famous murals of Chemainus, browse through its unique and individual shops, enjoy some ice cream or fudge or an afternoon tea, or attend a performance at the high-quality Chemainus Theatre.
- The Cowichan Community Centre in Duncan, within 20 minutes of Camp Qwanoes, offers a large swimming pool with sauna and whirlpool, a gym, and an ice arena. The Cowichan Centre is the home of the world’s largest hockey stick and puck! Fall groups can inquire to see if Cowichan Capitals hockey tickets are available.
- One of the Cowichan Valley’s most popular tourist attractions, the BC Forest Museum, is located just north of Duncan, within 20 minutes of Camp Qwanoes. From early April until mid-October, the museum offers a wide range of exhibits, demonstrations, and historical collections for the enjoyment of everyone. From mid-May until Labour Day, go for a ride on the memorable steam train that circles the grounds of this 100-acre park.
- Other notable attractions near Camp Qwanoes in the Cowichan Valley include the Cowichan Bay Maritime Museum, the Cowichan Valley Museum, and the Native Heritage Centre.
