Scott Bayley

More About Scott

Scott first came to Qwanoes as a camper at the age of nine and has loved it ever since. He joined the full-time team in 1989, serving as Assistant Director for ten years before stepping into the role of Executive Director in 1999. Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and brings extensive experience in children’s & youth ministry, marketing, communications, and development. His deep roots at Qwanoes and passion for its mission continue to shape his leadership today. Scott is also a proud member of the “I Met My Spouse At Qwanoes” club!

Abigail Potgieter

Staffing Director

More About Abigail

Abigail came to Qwanoes from South Africa in 2019 to serve as a Senior Counselor for the summer, following 2.5 years as Camp Director for VacFest. She then stayed for a year as an intern, and later served as Staffing Coordinator for 3.5 years before becoming the Staffing Director. Abigail has a Master’s degree in Homoeopathic Medicine and has worked in both clinical and administrative roles in South Africa.

Julie Bayley

Associate Director

More About Julie

Julie was a camper at Qwanoes from the age of nine and joyfully returned each summer. As a young adult, she began serving on staff as Waterfront Leader and later joined the senior leadership team in 1995. Julie holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Victoria and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Theological Studies. Over the years, she has played a key leadership role in shaping Qwanoes’ recreation programs, risk management, social media, and contributing to many aspects of camp life.

Ken Bayley

Director of Public Relations

More About Ken

Ken was part of the original search committee that discovered the property where Qwanoes now stands in 1965. He served at camp in various roles over the years before joining the full-time team in senior leadership in 1989—originally thinking it would just be for one year, something he still jokes about today. Prior to coming on staff, Ken worked as a full-time teacher in Williams Lake and Delta. He spent many summers at Qwanoes with his wife, Betty, and their three children before making the move to year-round ministry. Betty now serves as Qwanoes’ Executive Assistant.

Rich Priebe

Associate Director

More About Rich

Rich first connected with Qwanoes as an eight-year-old camper and later as a Q-Town speaker. With more than two decades of ministry experience, he has served as a pastor in Courtenay, Vernon, and Duncan, and together with his wife Shaleah and their three children, spent seven years in Tanzania serving with Africa Inland Mission. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Briercrest Bible College, a Master of Arts in Expository Preaching from Trinity Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Beyond ministry, Rich loves the outdoors, climbing, and mountaineering, and brings his passion for adventure and faith into his leadership at camp.
